Just in case you were starting to think that our trip was all sunsets and champagne, here are our worst photos taken on the road. Enjoy!
It's no surprise that I've been tracking our trip expenses. Every single cup of coffee, plane ticket, late-night ice cream purchase has been entered and reported. Here's a breakdown of our first month's expenses on the road in Colombia and Ecuador.
After a full month on the road, I no longer wake up in a panic wondering what the hell we're doing here. Instead I wake up first wondering where I am (are we still in Colombia?), then thinking about the stretch of day in front of me and what I want to do with it.
The first month has been more challenging than I expected. I'm trying to find a routine that keeps me positive and active. Though what and where we are is amazing, I'm having a harder time taking care of myself and ensuring that I am productive and happy.
Honestly, I thought Ecuador would be the same as Colombia.
It's probably ignorant to admit that, but I did. I felt like I'd adjusted to Colombia. My Spanish is getting better. I'd learned several local phrases. I was getting used to the beautiful lush green and mountains.
